If you’re reading this right now, I warn you, you’re in for a lengthy tirade.

As you all know, I’m in love with all things Dark-Hunterish, no…obsessed is more like it. I crave the excitement of a new Dark-Hunter novel with the delighted zeal of a child getting presents at Christmas. It fills me with adrenaline and an excited rush of something primitive…I don’t know…

Anyhoo, I go over and check the DH message board almost every day without fail. I read the posts zealously; spoilers, theories, tirades, you name it. If it’s there, I’m gonna read it. I even like most of it. However, there is one thing that ticks me off. Those posts that blatantly say the poster would die (or some such nonsense) if Sherrilyn wrote “Artemis” as Acheron’s heroine.

Question: What is wrong with Artemis getting a second chance at loving Acheron? A second chance to really see her past mistakes? ‘Cause that is really the only thing they’re protesting against. Artemis.

Do you swear off other romance novels because a particular author has paired a couple you’d rather he or she not pair together because you didn’t think they’d be a good match? No.

You read the dang book anyway and usually end up liking whoever it was you didn’t like at first. If this isn’t true you’re either lying to both yourself and me, or you’re telling the truth. In which case I must ask…

“What is wrong with you?”

I for one, think that maybe, just maybe quite a few posters over there who claim to hate the idea of Ash and Artemis having another chance at love, really want them to get together and resolve their problems.

I think it would be funny as hell to see Simi start to like Artemis, too. Instead of offering to barbecue Artemis for her akri, she’d offer to barbecue Akri for Artemis.

I really, really, really want Ash and Artemis to have another chance. I just can’t see Ash with anyone other than Artemis. They were fated to be together. Sherri could cater to those whose opinions differ from what she originally has in store for those two, but if she gives in to the many and varied protests against a match between Artemis and Acheron, (if such a match is what she’d been planning from the beginning) then I think she’s a bloody coward.

For if she goes against what romantically is a wonderful story, I for one will be pissed off royally because she gave into the dictates of those that didn’t share my opinion. I think she’d be giving into something other than what was in her heart, her soul. And that just ain’t right.

But….

That don’t mean I’ll stop reading her books. Doesn’t mean I won’t read Ash’s book or any other DH novel she writes. God knows I’m waiting to read Nick’s story, and Fury’s, and Spawn’s. And many more after that.

They’re just books. And I will be reading Ash’s story when it becomes available to the public whether he’s with Artemis or not. The point is for him to be happy, and if he’s not going to be happy with Artemis then I hope he gets with someone who will make him deliriously happy.

Okay, rant over. Whew.

I just had to state my opinion on how I view this whole Dark-Hunter/Ash Artie dilemma and I think the gripe about who Ash gets with should just end. What does it really matter, as long as he’s deliriously happy? Isn’t that what love’s all about? Being happy? Finding someone to be happy with? Shyeah!

Now, I railed at you, so it’s only fair that I give you a turn. Hit me with your best shot. Give me your opinion on the matter. Tell me what you really think.

I dare you.

Brianna.
