A Curious Tale: Part Two

acurioustale-somersham-part2Or, as I like to call it: ACT 2. LOL I amuse myself so much. It’s fantastic.

Moving on…

Despite his convictions that he cannot suffer her to live knowing his secret as she does, Tiernan finds himself sparing Melisande’s life — for the time being. Beguiled and intrigued by her fearless nature, he realizes he wants to discover what other curiosities this strange and beautiful female will reveal to him. Melisande does not share his wants, however, and defies him at every turn.

But still something plagues him. Why had she been able to pass through the thickly woven barriers of magic placed upon the doors when none before had been able?

Determined to find the answer, Tiernan encourages her to explore the one room he’d forbidden her from entering, hoping to see for himself her strange ability but what he discovers instead may very well change his life, and the fate of his kingdom, forever.

ACT 2 is available for pre-order now. 🙂

NaNoWriMo 2014

Holy Jesus, November starts in just a few days! Love Pain will be available on the 19th and I am so excited! Not only that, but nano is coming up, too!

This marks my first year of participating in the much touted NaNoWriMo and whether it is to be my first and only go at the thing remains to be seen. I joined because I was hoping the feeling of competition would spur me to write more. As the final day of October approaches, my anticipation rises, as does my fear that I won’t make the most of this opportunity and my selected work will remain unfinished and moldering in a folder somewhere on my computer, my guilty feelings allayed with thoughts that I’ll get around to it soon enough.

But I must not think such things. I need to stay positive that the outcome will be good and that I will accomplish my goals. That’s the only way I’ll get through this with all my hair intact. LOL 50,000 words is a lot for someone like me who hasn’t written that much on a single, specific project before. And while I know it isn’t impossible I also know I’m going to have to push myself past my limits to make it to the finish line. But isn’t that just part of being a writer? Pushing yourself past what you thought you were capable of to realize you are capable of so much more? That’s how I’m going into this thing: eyes wide open and heart beating a mile a minute, waiting to see where I’m going to end up before the month is through. Hopefully I won’t crash into a wall somewhere because I couldn’t see the sharp turn that was right in front of me. 😉

Anyhoo, that is what I will be doing the entire month of November – but not the only thing. 😉 Will any of you be participating in this great event as well? Let me know if you are and we can be writing buddies. I’m Brianna Somersham in case it wasn’t obvious. 😉

Until next story~

Love Pain – Cover Reveal

Love Pain

Hi, guys!

I have a new pretty to show off. 🙂 It’s so gorgeous!! It’s the cover for my vampire story, Love Pain. I’ll post the blurb in a few days, maybe even as soon as tomorrow, we’ll see. Anyway, I still have one more editing run to go through and then it’ll be ready to release, no pun intended. 😉 Something to remember: it’s not a romance. There is romance in it, but it is in no way a romance story. It’s more a tale of friendship and loss and continuing on than anything romantical. Just something to keep in mind.

Now look! Look at the pretty and bask in it! I will see you all later, I have lots of work to be doing. ~waves

Until next post,

Emrys – Coming Soon!

emrys2sm-somersham Hi guys!

Today I’m am unveiling the cover to my new book that, God willing, will be published by the end of June. I have many, many feelings for this story. Emrys is near and dear to me. He showed up one day out of the blue when I was about 19 years old and never went away. Of course, he was a cat the first time I met him…. Kind of reminded me of Garfield in that he was fat and lazy, but he’s not really one for lasagna. He likes chocolate. Wait, let me rephrase: He loves chocolate. It’s a wonder the stuff isn’t running through his veins in place of blood, he loves it so much.

Emrys is an immortal with a huge ego (why do immortals always have huge ego’s?), a silver tongue (not literally, that would be weird – even from me), and commitment issues. On the outside he looks like he’s got it all figured out, but on the inside he’s more than a little messed up. Though his mission in life is to help those in need, and he often gets called to people who have problems in the emotions department, mostly ones dealing with love, he can’t help but wonder why he’s been chosen to ‘fix’ these problems when his own life is far from perfect and his only experience with love ended up tearing him apart.

Okay, I better stop before I end up writing the story here. LOL So, yeah, Emrys’ story will be available at the end of June (for Kindle and in paperback) and I now have a lovely cover to show off!

I’ll be back with more updates soon!

Only Human – Update

Here’s a (very) unpolished snippet of Only Human for your reading pleasure. I’m not 100% sure when it will be finished, but at least it’s going. Let me stress that this hasn’t been edited at all, which means things will definitely change between now and when it’s finally done, so yay for that.

Hundreds of years ago, in a far distant past, a plague the likes of which humanity had never seen before swept across the nations and caused mass panic. Affecting only females from the very old to the very young, the sickness robbed them of the ability to carry life. No matter how fertile the woman had been before, no seed of any man would take root after the fever had had its way.

Humanity tried to find a cure. They searched medical books from centuries past, held conferences with ancient shaman from tribes hidden far, far away, only to be met with failure time and time again.

The human race was dying out.

It wouldn’t last long, or so the whispers said, hope pulled thin and taut and near to breaking with the words. This was only another affliction to be added to the history books, soon to be fixed, forgotten…because God help them if it wasn’t.

The plague first hit the Impure deep within the unclean labyrinth where they made their homes. Fearing a pandemic, the Governments decided it would be best for all peoples to quarantine the Impure. And so walls were built high and thick, separating the Impure from the Elite in hopes of keeping the sickness at bay.

It did not work.

Yayz. …I’m also working on another thing. A vampire thing. A vampire thing that will be much larger in word count than Only Human. Much, much larger. Would anyone like to read a snippet of that as well? Let me know…~~

Until next post!

Only Human

Only Human.

Quite possibly one of the strangest ideas I’ve ever come up with and decided to put into story form, though I suppose the premise is not all that unheard of. Set in an extremely far distant future, and possibly in an alternate universe, androids are solely responsible for advancing the human race as a plague had made every woman in existence barren many, many years before.

The Elite’s make up the majority of the population, being the only ones who can truly afford an android to carry their offspring, while the Impure struggle to survive. But this is not a story about the upper- and lower-classes. This is, in fact, a story about an android who was never meant to exist, and a man obsessed with beauty and perfection who would stop at nothing to have it.

Coming soon…

This is a thing I am working on, yes. I hope I can deliver because, oh my God, it is gorgeous in my head!

Until next post,
