This is probably going to be a super short post, or as super short as any of my blog posts are, so here we go. As you may have guessed from the title, my beloved copy of Beyond The Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning is faulty. What you may not have guessed is that I have read this story a couple of times now and have only just realized something was off.
Well, what’s wrong with it? you ask. There’s three chapters missing from it, I answer. No, I’m not making this up. It jumps from page 314 back to page 59 and continues to page 90 before picking back up on page 347, and what I can’t figure out is why I didn’t notice it before! It’s not like it sneaks up on you! It practically slaps you in the face! Here’s picture proof, ’cause pics or it didn’t happen, right?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not angry. In fact, I’m rather amused. Mostly at myself. Granted, it’s been a while since I’d read the story and I might have read my copy maybe once since I bought it; all my other readings of it were of my mother’s copy which has this cover:
and not this one:
Anyhoo, the original is fine. There’s no missing chapters. Luckily I remembered my mom’s copy was in her library and I snatched it up lickity-split to make sure it was only my copy with the redone cover that had issues. Needless to say, I will be buying a new copy because who wouldn’t. Has anyone else encountered this problem with this particular book?
This post is probably a jumbled mess that hardly makes any sense, but I did tweet that I would blog about it, so here it is, the oddly strange and strangely odd mistake in Beyond The Highland Mist.
