Love Pain Instrumental

My uncle did a wonderful job creating a “theme” of sorts for Love Pain. From beginning to end I think it encompasses everything the story is, and it’s amazing. Every time I listen to it I have feels. LOL Anyway, I think he did an amazing job capturing the feel of the story and it only occurred to me now to share it with my wonderful readers. It’s a little rough and the bass is kinda heavy so if you’re listening through headphones you might want to turn down the volume a bit.

Drop a comment below to let me know what you think!

A Curious Tale: Part Two

acurioustale-somersham-part2Or, as I like to call it: ACT 2. LOL I amuse myself so much. It’s fantastic.

Moving on…

Despite his convictions that he cannot suffer her to live knowing his secret as she does, Tiernan finds himself sparing Melisande’s life — for the time being. Beguiled and intrigued by her fearless nature, he realizes he wants to discover what other curiosities this strange and beautiful female will reveal to him. Melisande does not share his wants, however, and defies him at every turn.

But still something plagues him. Why had she been able to pass through the thickly woven barriers of magic placed upon the doors when none before had been able?

Determined to find the answer, Tiernan encourages her to explore the one room he’d forbidden her from entering, hoping to see for himself her strange ability but what he discovers instead may very well change his life, and the fate of his kingdom, forever.

ACT 2 is available for pre-order now. 🙂

Immortality was not what it was cracked up to be…Emrys

Being immortal, Emrys thought he had learned all the hard lessons centuries ago. After hundreds upon hundreds of years spent mending other peoples broken lives while wishing for someone who could mend his own, he’d learned in the worst ways possible that seeking compassion from others only led to broken trust and trampled hearts–and bodies left mangled and bloody.

He would never know true love, or so he believed, until…

Deep within a forest in medieval Wales, a chance encounter with a beautiful girl changed him. Myrddin was everything he could have wished for, all he had ever dreamed of having. For once, he was not afraid to dare to love. Soon, however, reality began to haunt him.

He could not live as half a man…

Beautiful Myrddin knew nothing of his terrifying gift and she could not know-ever-for he knew he could never bear to have her look at him in fear should she somehow find out the truth. Doing what he believed best, he left her before pain could be inflicted-from either side-never knowing he was leaving behind his salvation.

…and yet, he could not end his suffering, for he would never die.

Centuries later, he is reunited with the beautiful Myrddin, only to be reminded that history is bound to repeat itself, often in the most painful of ways…

NaNoWriMo 2014

Holy Jesus, November starts in just a few days! Love Pain will be available on the 19th and I am so excited! Not only that, but nano is coming up, too!

This marks my first year of participating in the much touted NaNoWriMo and whether it is to be my first and only go at the thing remains to be seen. I joined because I was hoping the feeling of competition would spur me to write more. As the final day of October approaches, my anticipation rises, as does my fear that I won’t make the most of this opportunity and my selected work will remain unfinished and moldering in a folder somewhere on my computer, my guilty feelings allayed with thoughts that I’ll get around to it soon enough.

But I must not think such things. I need to stay positive that the outcome will be good and that I will accomplish my goals. That’s the only way I’ll get through this with all my hair intact. LOL 50,000 words is a lot for someone like me who hasn’t written that much on a single, specific project before. And while I know it isn’t impossible I also know I’m going to have to push myself past my limits to make it to the finish line. But isn’t that just part of being a writer? Pushing yourself past what you thought you were capable of to realize you are capable of so much more? That’s how I’m going into this thing: eyes wide open and heart beating a mile a minute, waiting to see where I’m going to end up before the month is through. Hopefully I won’t crash into a wall somewhere because I couldn’t see the sharp turn that was right in front of me. 😉

Anyhoo, that is what I will be doing the entire month of November – but not the only thing. 😉 Will any of you be participating in this great event as well? Let me know if you are and we can be writing buddies. I’m Brianna Somersham in case it wasn’t obvious. 😉

Until next story~

Love Pain

Love Pain

Taliesin knew Aiden never meant to fall in love with a mortal woman.

But matters of the heart cannot be controlled or bent to the whims of any creature, no matter how much one may wish otherwise. Though time means nothing to a vampire, when love is involved it suddenly means everything, and with it comes a bittersweet bite that leaves one aching.

Taliesin never thought his past would break them apart.

Mistakes are a part of everyone’s life, even the undead. Taliesin cannot say he is proud of the things he has done but without having done them, his existence would be empty of those he cherishes the most.

When the whispers of unrest threaten to tear asunder both old bonds and new, Taliesin fears even time will not be enough to heal the wounds the new-found lovers will have to endure. Knowing all too well the anguish of loss and heartache, Taliesin can only hope the cost of their love will not be the undoing of all he holds dear.

Lookie, I have a blurb! Links are coming soon! Oh, this is going to look so good on my bookshelf! I am so excited! LOL

Until next story!

Love Pain – Cover Reveal

Love Pain

Hi, guys!

I have a new pretty to show off. 🙂 It’s so gorgeous!! It’s the cover for my vampire story, Love Pain. I’ll post the blurb in a few days, maybe even as soon as tomorrow, we’ll see. Anyway, I still have one more editing run to go through and then it’ll be ready to release, no pun intended. 😉 Something to remember: it’s not a romance. There is romance in it, but it is in no way a romance story. It’s more a tale of friendship and loss and continuing on than anything romantical. Just something to keep in mind.

Now look! Look at the pretty and bask in it! I will see you all later, I have lots of work to be doing. ~waves

Until next post,

The Writing Process – Blog Tour

“The Writing Process” – a thing I never really give much thought to since writing is such a part of me, but since I was asked to do this thing, I will, to the best of my ability, essplain you a thing.

Many thanks to Tina Adams for volunteering me for this blog tour. 😉 God knows I probably wouldn’t have done it without her. 🙂

So, let’s get to those lovely questions, shall we?

1. What Am I Working On?

Um, well, lots of things, really. I’ve got some zombie hunters who are always clamoring for attention, some vampires who just wanna be loved, and an attention-seeking, chocolate-loving, shape-shifting tortured soul by the name of Emrys who always tries to steal the show.

Other than those, I have a futuristic, dystopian type thing that likes to whisper I’m still here” when I’m knee-deep in work that takes priority right now. I have to pat it on the head and whisper back, I know, I know. I just have to work on this right now. I haven’t forgotten you, my broken, beautiful thing, you.

Hm, what else? Oh! Just recently I’ve decided to do a series of short, fluffy snippets which will be purely indulgent for me. I love reading cute things that don’t really have a plot and just exist to make me smile or cry happy tears ’cause they’re just so cheesy/wonderful/cute/emotional. Yeah. They’ll probably be around a few thousand words at the most and will be available to read first on my website.

That’s what I’m working on, yep.

2. How Does My Work Differ From Others Of Its Genre?

I like to fill my works choc full of humor. I tend to lean more towards things that make you laugh than anything really thought provoking. LOL

Once, I let my mom read a thing I was working on (zombies, if you’re curious) and she laughed so much she almost puked. I gave myself a pat on the back and said, “You did good, Bri.”

3. Why Do I Write What I Do?

Oh, goodness. Now I have to think. LOL This is probably going to be really short, but here goes.

I write the things I do because I like the idea of being able to make people feel. Whether it’s happiness, sadness, anger, or some other emotion, if my writing, my stories, have made you feel something in the emotional spectrum then I feel accomplished. Like I’ve done something to move you.

So that’s the gist of it, I suppose.

4. How Does My Writing Process Work?

keyboard-smash-o

Pretty much that.

No, but in all seriousness, I don’t know if I have much of a process to describe. I mean, aside from having an idea, fleshing said idea out, getting all my pertinent information down and then putting it on paper, I don’t have a ‘process’. I just listen to the voices in my head and write.

And this is where I toss the ball in someone else’s corner and hope I don’t hit anyone in the face. 🙂 I’m going to throw this one at Jilly Brown, author of the wonderful mystery/thriller/suspense novel Killervision.

Jilly, babe, take it away!

Until next post,

Bri
